The purpose of this site is to educate and inform the public about all the facts surrounding a defamation lawsuit filed by Nick Papa, former Ward 5 Richmond Hill Councillor, against Frank Zeppieri, a well respected Chartered Accountant and family man, who together with his family, was a resident of Ward 5 for over 20 years.

After Nick Papa filed the Statement of Claim , Frank Zeppieri filed a statement of defence

Subsequent to filing the statement of defence , Frank Zeppieri filed a motion to dismiss the Lawsuit under the Protection of Public Interest Act, 2015.  The Bill amends the Courts of Justice Act to add sections 137.1 to 137.5, which create a process for getting a proceeding against a person dismissed if it is shown that the proceeding arises from an expression made by the person that relates to a matter of public interest (section 3 of the Bill).
